Current Life Goal: Being "The Decider"

Over the past month and a half or so, I've come to the realization that no one's going to help me achieve my own destiny, whatever that is, except for me.  It's not like my friends and family don't care about me, they do.  However, I think it's a little short sighted to think that they're going to drop everything to make my life better.  My actual goal for 2010 was to be more decisive, and I believe that I have done that.  Here's a short list of things that I've accomplished:
  1. Decided to move from current apartment, found a new apartment by stalking the apartment company's website, and signed a lease on a pretty nice place for not too much money.  I ended up with a wonderful roommate to boot!
  2. Decided to complete the Homecoming 5K in my town.  Granted, I haven't started training for it yet, but it's in October and 3.1 miles isn't that far to run, right?
  3. Decided to work on my well being not only with my health but also emotionally.
  4. Decided to see how much stuff I could recycle and not throw away.  In fact, there's a huge ziploc bag full of expired medicines and dead batteries waiting to be taken for haz mat collection.  You won't see me being responsible for gender changing fish.
  5. Decided to become less frustrated by interpersonal relationship challenges and go with the flow.  This has increased my quality of life a lot.
  6. Decided that no matter what happens, I'll do my best to be happy.
While I haven't completed everything on the list (most of it is definitely in process), I'm pretty pleased with where I am.  I can always strive to do better, which is what I plan to do.  Here's to the rest of 2010 and accomplishing my goals!

(P.S. I also decided as of today to learn how to write a complete blog post that had a beginning and an end and didn't just abruptly finish.  This part doesn't count).
