Tonight is the Broncos' first pre-season game. Since I don't know really who any of the players are, I'm going to instantly cheer for the offensive line as a whole. They're the one player whose name I know. Maybe I'll also cheer for Peyton Hillis. Anyone who is brave enough to play country music for an entire NFL practice has guts. Tons and tons of cojones, as you might say.
Also, I've been praying that Mike Nolan's class-act fashion sense is going to rub off on Josh "I can't have my own identity so I'll have to be a drunken hobo like Daddy Belichick" McDaniels. Seriously, though: Mike Nolan, your friendly neighborhood defensive coordinator, was fined by the NFL for wearing a suit jacket and tie on the sidelines while he was the coach of the 49ers. Why? It wasn't made by Reebok was the NFL brass' answer. Really? Of course Reebok doesn't make suits. They're not in the class business! So what does this guy do? He pays Reebok to make him a Reebok branded suit! The poor guy is then stuck being bossed around by a 30-something kid who potentially will dress like he just rolled out of bed at 3 pm to go to his music appreciation class and then go out pass out at a frat party three hours later. All I'm sayin' is that if you're going to dress like you're panning for change on the 16th street mall, we better be AFC champions. You got rid of our franchise quarterback, buddy, it's time for results.
But at least you didn't sign Michael Vick. We all know you wanted to. However, you don't get any points for that. The cookies will come when our team starts winning.
